Young people who help shape how kids learn to attend

Youth Advisors work directly with the a10d team — sharing their perspective, generating ideas, testing activities, and co-creating a program that’s actually meant for them. No experience required. Just curiosity.

We have two cohorts of advisors:
- Tweens (ages 10-12)
- Teens (ages 13-16)
Each week you'll get a prompt via text message and reply with your thoughts within a week. Four times a year, you'll join a live Zoom session with your age group. That's it.
Advisors directly shape a10d, develop real skills, become part of a tight community and earn fun gifts and the chance to reference the experience in for jobs, college, etc.

WHO IT’S FOR

Every young person is already an expert in what it's like to be them right now.

That's all of the experience advisors need.

One text a week. One group call every 3 months.

WHAT WE ACTUALLY DO

Try something, tell us how it went
Example: Try a 5-minute breathing exercise before bed. Did it change anything?
Try something involving other people.
Example: Try "I Like You Already" for two days. Let us know, what happened?
Tell us what you think.
Example: What do you wish more people paid closer attention to?

You can reply by text, audio, or video — whatever feels right. All responses are kept anonymous. And, each month, we circle back to let you and all Advisors know what we learned and how we put your input into action.

We're looking for kids who are genuinely curious, up for trying new things, and willing to share honestly. Strong communicators who are comfortable talking with young people and adults.

WHAT YOU GET OUT OF IT

Your ideas directly shape the a10d program — activities, prompts, features, and culture.
You'll practice reflecting, communicating your ideas, and advocating within an organization that impacts people’s lives.
Be part of a small group of kids from different places who are thinking and caring about the same things.
Stickers, a free a10d t-shirt after your first season, and an experience you can reference on future applications (job, college, etc).

For parents & caregivers | For people nominating someone | Time commitment

Parents or caregivers will receive one text per month summarizing how the program is going and what's coming up.
All advisor responses are kept anonymous — we may share insights but never names or likenesses without advisor and parent/caregiver permission.
Advisors can reply to prompts using a parent's or caregiver's device, if they don't have their own.
You'll be asked to sign a waiver before your child joins. You can preview a copy of that waiver here. Questions and feedback are always welcome.

HOW JOINING WORKS

Apply or get nominated.
Go to a10d.org/apply to apply yourself. Someone else can nominate you, too, at a10d.org/nominate. If they do, we’ll send you the application and let you know who nominated you to apply.
The a10d team reviews.
We look at kids’ curiosity, interest in attention, and commitment. And, we make sure there is space in the right age group. If not, we’ll make sure candidates are put on the waitlist and notified.
You're accepted.
You and your parent/caregiver are notified. A waiver is signed, and a welcome package ships.
Welcome from the team.
A personalized video from a10d Founder, Meghan, a note from your group facilitator, and a welcome orientation video arrive.
Prompts begin.
Your first weekly text arrives. You're an advisor!
