Helping kids own their attention is not a one-person job. a10d is being built by, with and for a lot of people who care deeply about kids: a small team of highly committed, seasoned individuals, listening to young people who understand what is at stake and want a say how their world takes shape. We are supported by funders who are dedicated to ensuring we preserve and strengthen our humanity in future generations.
A10d is also built on what works. We spent a decade+ building Tinkergarten, training and supporting 5,000+ educators to deliver a novel curriculum to hundreds of thousands of families in all 50 states, and creating content experiences that reached milions. a10d brings those lessons to the tween years.
MEET THE CO-FOUNDERS
Meghan has been an education leader and entrepreneur for over 25 years, and Brian is a product leader and social entrepreneur who has built impactful education products and programs for even longer. Together, we've spent our careers helping kids thrive, well before our own (now 12, 14 and 16) were even born. This moment feels more urgent and invigorating than ever.
Our first social enterprise wasa national leader in outdoor, play-based learning, facilitated by a vibrant community of trained, supported educators.
Now our kids are adolescents, and the ground beneath them is shifting faster than any of us can make sense of. a10d is our next answer: effective, joyful ways to help kids to own their attention and build real human connections and the strong internal systems they need to navigate and shape their world.
a10d is supported by a grant from LearnerStudio, a nonprofit working to accelerate progress toward a more flexible, equitable and learner-centered education system. We're so grateful for their early belief in this work.
We are also fueled by generous donations from people like you. Our wider a10d community also contributes support, time, expertise and energy to our program. Let us know how you might want to help! We are grateful to all of the people who are helping us to make this learning possible for young people everywhere. We're actively speaking with aligned funders who want to help more kids build attention and real human connection.
YOUTH ADVISORY GROUP
Youth Advisors work directly with the a10d team, sharing their perspective, generating ideas, testing activities, and co-creating a program that's actually meant for them. No experience required. Just curiosity.
Advisors meet in three cohorts: Tweens (10 to 12), Teens (13 to 15) and Mentors (16 to 18). Each week they get one text prompt, and four times a year they join a live Zoom with their age group. That's it.
